NORTH COUNTRY WILD CARE TRAINING SERIES 2011 –2012

Yes, there is emergency care for wildlife, and volunteers do it all. North Country Wild Care is in search of new volunteers to help with every facet of our work, from staffing our hotline to transporting and caring for animals. Join us at our upcoming training sessions and learn what you can do to help and how to become a Licensed Wildlife Rehabilitator. Classes are free of charge but donations to help support our efforts to care for distressed wildlife are greatly appreciated!

Caring for injured and orphaned wildlife: Combines the two baby classes, but also some info on caring for injured adults and babies.  Go over housing requirements (minimum standard guidelines), enrichment.

North Country Wild Care is a non-profit organization formed in 2001 to assist rehabilitators in their work.  Wildlife Rehabilitators are Department of Environmental Conservation licensed volunteers who take care of injured and orphaned wildlife.

North Country Wild Care welcomes new members, those willing to assist with fundraising, public education and general organization business as well as people looking to become wildlife rehabilitators. NCWC meets as a group on the third Tuesday of each month at 7 PM at the Landmark Motor Inn off of Exit 17N at 1418 Route 9 in South Glens Falls. The Inn is approximately 1/2 mile off the exit.

Saratoga Springs Public Library

From The North:
Take I-87 South. Get off Exit 15 and take a right on Rte 50.  Go approx. 1 mile and Route 50 becomes US 9 S. Go into the center of town and take a left onto Caroline Street, then take your first right onto Putnam Street. Parking for the Library is off of Putnam Street on your Left.
From the South:
Head North on I-87.  Take US 9 N (Exit 13N) towards Saratoga Springs.  Stay on US 9 N for about 4 miles and then take a right on Caroline Street, then take your first right onto Putnam Street. Parking for the Library is off of Putnam Street on your Left.

We are always looking for new wildlife rehabilitators; and not everyone works with the animals. If you are interested in getting more involved with wildlife, we also need help with various other functions vital to our organization, like fundraising, updating databases, mailings, etc. If you love wildlife and would like to help, please contact us for more information!
